For larger businesses, or workplaces whose risk assessments have identified more complex first aid needs, the 18-hour (3-day) first aid at work course is ideal. A blended option combining online learning with face-to-face training is available.
Upon completion of this course, candidates will be able to:
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
- Safely manage an incident
- Deal with an unresponsive breathing casualty (top-to-toe survey and recovery position)
- Deal with a non-breathing casualty (CPR and chain of survival)
- Safely use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from;
- choking, external bleeding, burns, shock, seizures, minor injuries
- Provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from suspected injuries to;
- bones, muscles and joints, head and spine, chest
- Provide first aid to a casualty suffering from’;
- electrical and chemical burns, eye injuries, poisoning
