Qualified in-house first aid training for businesses

Investing in the safety of your workplace is something that shouldn’t be overlooked. With proper first aid training, your employees will learn to safely handle emergency situations, reacting quickly to accidents and injuries. These actions can prevent minor injuries from becoming major, as well as potentially save lives.
Giving your team the ability to react to emergencies in a calm and confident manner is an invaluable asset, not only to your organisation but to the individuals. These are skills they can take away with them, empowering them to help others in need, in and out of the workplace.

Gain experience and skills to help in the workplace
The First Class First Aid courses for businesses and organisations are designed to help staff feel confident in safely managing a medical situation or emergency. By investing in your workplace’s safety, your employees will feel comfortable handling a number of situations, including:
- Dealing with unresponsive breathing and non-breathing casualties.
- Safely using an AED (automated external defibrillator).
- Providing first aid to those choking, bleeding, or burnt.
How long does a first aid certificate last?
A First Aid at Work certificate is valid for three years from the date of issue. This certification qualifies the holder to act as the designated workplace first aider, ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations. Once these three years expire, the certificate must be renewed through corporate first aid courses to maintain first aid certification.
However, it’s highly recommended that first aid skills are refreshed more frequently than every three years. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly advises first aiders to complete annual refresher training. This helps maintain confidence and ensures that the first aider is always equipped to respond effectively in an emergency.
Schools are responsible for providing a safe environment for both students and school staff. In the event of an accident or medical emergency, having trained first aiders on site is crucial. Teachers and other school staff should be equipped with the necessary first aid training to provide immediate care to students or colleagues when needed.
It is particularly important for schools to have a qualified first aider present for events like school trips, sports days, or other off-site activities where accidents may occur. The government strongly recommends that schools have trained first aiders on site at all times to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the school community.
By ensuring regular first aid training and adhering to recommended guidelines, schools and workplaces alike can foster safer environments and remain prepared for any potential emergencies
